چکیده
Background: Chromium is an essential micronutrient which required for the normal functioning of insulin and regulation blood sugar levels. It acts as a vital antioxidant maintaining homeostasis. In diabetes mellitus, free radical production increased levels antioxidants like chromium, vanadium, selenium manganese are reduced. Aim: To study level serum chromium in patients with type 2 mellitus its association glycemic control. Materials Methods: One hundred twenty individuals were enrolled this study, classified into 60 II (type DM) apparently health control group. Serum Glycosylated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) measured using atomic absorption spectrometry Ichroma. Results: The results showed significant decrease DM (0.0151±0.005) when compared healthy group (0.122±0.691) p-value (0.002). addition to that there was mean concentration controlled diabetic (0.0206± 0.003) uncontrolled (0.0120±0.002) P-value (0.04).Also positive correlation between Body Mass Index (BMI) (R-value 0.450, 0.014), negative age (R-value- 0.660, 0.011) , strong HbA1c -0.843, 0.0260). Conclusion: concluded that, significantly DM.

Association between the level of glycosylated hemoglobin and serum lipid profile in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by defect in insulin secretion and action resulting in hyperglycemia. Diabetic patients have deranged body metabolisms particularly for lipids which may result in abnormal levels of serum levels of lipids. Methods: The aim of this study is to find any possible correlation between the the glycosylated hemoglobin and the...
متن کاملRelationship between body mass index and gestational diabetes mellitus
Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the most common medical complications in pregnancy, which is associated with many serious consequences for mother and her fetus. Body mass index (BMI) in pregnant women is considered as one of most effective factor for the incidence of GDM. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between BMI at pregnant women in the early...
متن کاملSerial glycosylated hemoglobin levels and risk of colorectal neoplasia among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
BACKGROUND Hyperglycemia may increase the risk of colorectal neoplasia by serving as an energy source for neoplastic growth. We sought to determine whether glycemic control measured by serial hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) was associated with the risk of colorectal adenoma. METHODS Among a cohort of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who received health care within the Kaiser Permanente Northern ...
متن کاملBody mass index and heart failure among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
BACKGROUND Epidemiological data on the association between body mass index (BMI) and heart failure (HF) risk among diabetic patients are rare. METHODS AND RESULTS We performed a prospective cohort study of risk for HF among 31 155 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (11 468 men and 19 687 women). Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to estimate the association of different ...
متن کاملBody mass index and stroke risk among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Previous studies have evaluated the association of body mass index (BMI) with the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular disease mortality among diabetic patients, and results were controversial. No studies have focused on the association between BMI and stroke risk among diabetic patients. We aimed to examine the association of BMI with stroke risk among diabetic patients....
